Comments by the Faithful & Discreet Slave class about those serving where the need is greater, specifically  in their relationship to the progress of the worldwide Kingdom Preaching work:

"What accounts for such progress? Many things. Missionaries trained at the Watchtower Bible School of Gilead and, more recently, upwards of 20,000 graduates of the Ministerial Training School have made a huge contribution. So have the many Witnesses who at their own expense have moved to lands where the need for Kingdom publishers is greater. Such self-sacrificing Christians—men and women, young and old, single and married—play a significant role in preaching the Kingdom message throughout the earth.  They are greatly appreciated."

CONGREGATIONS & GROUPS ARE LOCATED:

Brother Henry Campos, from the Veracruz Congregation (see below) writes that there is a need in the following Spanish congregations and groups.  Below are maps showing the towns and provinces where they are located and photos of the areas, as well as a description of the area and a little information about the weather in some of the places. To contact the Branch for more information and advice about where to serve, see  www.needgreaters.com/CostaRicaBranch.htm for telephone and fax numbers.

Congregation in Nicoya : This town is in the Province of Guanacaste.  This area is very dry especially in the summer.

Nicoya is the major town of the peninsula and the cultural center of the province of Guanacaste. It was Costa Rica's first colonial city. The town also hosts the biggest and best equipped hospital in the Nicoya Peninsula

The northwestern province of Guanacaste was named after the large umbrella-like trees prevalent in the zone. From the boiling mud pots of Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, to the sun-drenched beaches of the Pacific coast, this corner of the country is a picturesque lava-rock coast backed up against thick jungle to the north of the little town of Nicoya which is at the base of a steep line of cliffs with a few dozen buildings cozied-up against the Pacific Ocean.  A string of long beaches stretches to the south. The name of the town is of Indian origin.  Nicoya was the chief of the Chorotega Indians at the time when the Spanish conquistadores arrived in Costa Rica.

The town is at the base of a steep line of cliffs, a few dozen buildings cozied-up against the Pacific Ocean. A string of long beaches stretches to the south; a picturesque lava-rock coast backed up against thick jungle lies to the north. Santa Rosa and Guanacaste National Parks are vital protective areas for the Dry Pacific climatic zone. Santa Rosa is also a very important historic site .The seasonal lake of Palo Verde National Park attracts the largest concentration of waterfowl and wadding birds in Central America.

A wild and mysterious area.  Sport fishing, bird watching, canoeing, etc.  It is the largest rain forest preserve in the country. Nicoya: This town is in the Province of Guanacaste, it’s different there because it’s very dry especially in the summer. Initially inhabited by Chorotega Indians, Costa Rica’s largest indigenous Indian community, Nicoya gets its name from an eminent Chorotega chief who initially welcomed the Spanish conquistadors when they first arrived here. The town has a number of banks, supermarkets, open-air markets and stores, in addition to a hospital in Nicoya as well.
